Rancho Santa Margarita, one of Orange County, California’s newer cities, is a planned community. Much of the city lies inside the border of Rancho Mission Viejo. The most prominent association is the Rancho Santa Margarita Landscape and Recreation Corporation and incorporates most of the original plan for the city and keeps up the parks and pathways inside the city.
